Installation Instructions - Custom Saddle Blanket
FRONT SEAT COVER INSTALLATION:
1. Begin by removing the headrests if possible.
-
For Ford seats: Look for the flush button on the side of plastic cap that
the headrest post feeds into at the top of the seat. Push button in with
a key while pulling the headrest up to release.
-
For GM/Chevy seats: Where the headrest post goes into the seat there
is a plastic cap. Push a small nail or heavy paper clip into the hole
and pull up to release headrest.
If headrests are not removable, there should be a wide velcro
slit in the top of the backrest covers.
2. Next, slide backrest cover over the backrest (vinyl side to the back of backrest).
Make sure that you have the correct side (look for armrest holes and shape of
seat etc. To determine side). If the seat cover is tight, shimmy down cover by
pulling one side down 3" then the other 3" and so on. For seat integrated
restraints, we include a zipper system. Simply, unzip the cover, wrap it
around the backrest behind the seat belt & zip it back up.
When the backrest if fully centered and fitted, align head rest holes,
stuff the front velcro tab between the cushion and backrest
And attach it to the rear velcro tab on the bottom of the backrest.
3. Next, place the cushion cover over the seat cushion. Again, make sure you have the
correct side (look for latch or seatbelt cut-outs or general shape).
Stuff the rear velcro tab through the space between the backrest & cushion.
Next, attach the front elastic to the bottom of the cushion with an "s"
hook (usually there are metal bars etc to attach the hook to).
Next, locate the two looped ends of the tension chord, located at the rear
sides of the cushion cover. Usually, it is best to pass the ends of the
tension chord between the cushion and backrest, then pull the ends out to
the sides of the cushion, and then down, to attach them together underneath
the rear of the cushion with an "s" hook.
Finally, pull the velcro tab at the rear of the cushion cover back until the
cushion fits snuggly, and then attach the velcro to the carpeting at the rear
of the seat. If there are elastics instead of velcro on the rear of the
cushion cover, stretch and attach the elastics to the bottom of the seat with "s" hooks.
4. Optional Headrest Covers: The headrest covers tend to be a tight fit. This is necessary for them to
look smooth and well fitting. Place the headrest cover over the headrests
(again with the vinyl side to the back). Sometimes it is necessary to
scrunch the foam of the headrest down until the headrest cover fits over.
Don't be afraid to be forceful- the seat covers will not rip!
5. Optional Console Covers:
Finally you can attach the console. The console comes in two parts:
the lid cover and the bottom cover. Slide the bottom cover, from front to rear,
over the bottom of the console. Stuff the rear piece of velcro through the space
between the console and the cushion.
Next, slide the lid cover, starting from the front to the rear, over the lid
portion of the console. The lid should slide between the wide elastics and
the cover. Next, attach the velcro at the rear of the lid cover to the
velcro at the back end of the bottom cover. Finally, make sure that everything
is lined up (eg: cup holders, change holders, latch openings etc.).
REAR SEAT COVER INSTALLATION:
Rear seat cover installation is basically the same as front seat cover
installation. The only difference is the accessibility, or lack there
of, to areas behind the backrest or cushion.
In most cases, the rear seat cushion can be folded out, or removed all
together for easier seat cover installation. The same is generally true
for the rear backrests as well (important note: if you are not sure how
to remove the rear seat cushion or backrest, please call your dealer for
instructions). Once the cushion or backrests have been removed or folded
out, the seat cover hooks and elastics can be easily installed.
